Lord of the Dead (Bran)and the Lady of Rebirth (Eithne)

Appearance:
Bran is a rather forbidding figure.  He appears as a pale face man with black hair and beard and prefers all black clothing and/or armour.  Any symbols/decoration surrounding him will have skeleton motifs worked into it to remind everyone of his/her own mortality.  His wife, Eithne, can appear in many different forms: as a very pregnant woman, a young mother, or as a grandmotherly crone of a figure.  As ominous as Bran is, it is well advised to remember it is both who decide the fate of the souls of the dead.

Symbols:  The star stands for the Evening star that is to guide the dead to Bran.  The ‘figure 8’ symbol stands for the cycle of death and rebirth that is governed by Eithne.

Areas of Concern:
Death and rebirth. These deities govern the afterlife and jealously guard this prerogative.  They decide the ultimate destination for a soul:  Annwn – a paradise where the dead live an ideal version of life on earth and reserved for only the most deserving and developed souls and Tech Duinn where the dead await rebirth and relive/recount their lives and deeds in order to further develop their souls.   It is believed that souls that have fully embraced evil are not touchable by Bran and Eithne.  Those souls are destined for a darker fate under far less merciful guardians.....

Duties of the Priesthood:
These clerics are the only ones allowed to practice necromancy and only under very strict and limited conditions.  The spells mainly allow the priests to communicate with the dead and it must be for a greater good (such as catching the dead person’s killer).  These priests are tasked with preserving the hold of their Gods on the afterlife.  Thus, their main role is to track down and punish anyone or anything that interferes with the “natural progression of the dead.”  They regards as crimes: any use of necromancy, any interference with burial places sanctified by the Gods of Anglesey, desecration of any burial place, and any interference with the souls of the departed and/or their remains. This priesthood is the most secretive about the rites they practice.

Thus, clerics of the dead/rebirth domain are expected to:
1.    Track down and capture anyone/anything that interferes with dead and their souls.
2.    Rectify/repair any past interference and ensure that interference ends and the souls can progress.
3.    Govern and carry out any contact with the spirits of the dead under strict guidelines.
Powers:
Clerics are able to cast the spell “Detect Undead” once per day at will.

Detect Undead  Casting time: 1 action.  Range: 100 yards per caster level.  Components: Pinch of dried bone and pinch of crumbled wood mixed together.   Duration: 5 minutes per caster level      Once the cleric casts this spell, a glowing white ball of flame (creates no heat, only light) about the size of a chicken egg appears in front of the caster.  If undead are within range, the ball of flame will move towards the nearest concentration of undead.  The ball of flame takes the shortest route possible between the caster and the undead.
At 5th level, a cleric of these Gods is able to cast Speak with Dead once per day at will.  It is done as a ritual spell.
