Goddess of Nature Out of Balance
Appearance and Nature: Whether they are correct or not, scholars have settled on the two forms of this Goddess: an emaciated woman carrying a dead child or a horribly unnatural creature that is a parody of a common creature. This Goddess’ aim is to twist what is in nature and to draw out its suffering. The creatures she mutates dimly know they are not right; but this feeling is far overshadowed by their intense hatred of ‘normal nature’. Likewise, the Goddess does not want to kill all crops and farm animals; she wishes to have them wither away or give diseased products. To the Goddess, it is far better to have a cow’s milk dry up and her calve starve or to have that milk cause the calf to be sickly and slowly die then it is to simply kill the calf…..
Symbol: (as shown) a diseased and unnatural tree.
Followers: Like the God of Disasters, the followers of this Goddess are usually guilty of short sightedness, greed, and jealousy. It’s not that they wish to destroy all nature; they put their desires ahead of everything else. In this group, you will find people who destroy/damage the environment to either make more money or to damage/destroy the environment to spite/hurt other people. There are, of course, those followers who simply enjoy the feeling of control and power, most of these people are then selected for priestly training….
Priests: These priests work on two levels as well. They can be found encouraging others to not worry about nature, subtly working against laws and groups that protect the environment, and causing resentment and distrust in communities. In addition, these priests have the spells and knowledge to cause disease, destruction, and a warping of nature. However, these measures are subtly used as they would draw unwanted attention to the priests and a need to save the environment. Instead, the priest would attempt to cause suspicion and fear between neighbours and towards nature. Only in their isolated lairs do these priests give full vent to their desires to twist and torture nature…..
Opposing Gods: Lord of the Wild, Lady of the Fields.
