Lord of War (Morgan) and the Lady of Peace (Morgana)
Appearance:
Morgan will appear as a very well armed and armoured warrior of impressive stature. His hair and beard are so blonde as to be almost white. He may also appear as an envoy with a parlay flag and no armaments. Morgana appears as a tall, well muscled and beautiful woman with flaming red hair. She will appear dressed as an envoy. However, she can also appear dressed for war – armed and armoured as a scout, she carries a bow that does not miss and a quiver that never empties (in case negotiations fail…..). |
Areas of concern: War, warriors, and peace negotiations. These deities prefer a peaceful and good kingdom. However, they will have little patience nor sympathy for a kingdom that is not ready to defend itself. Likewise, any evil presence or act will not be tolerated by either deity nor war for war’s sake. Key sayings: “Only just wars!” “Peace through superior firepower.”
Duties of the Priesthood: Priests of this domain are expected to be leaders in both peace and war. While this duality seems to be a contradiction, it actually is a logical partnership. War is often necessary for a ‘just and good’ peace. Being fully prepared and willing for war is a guarantee of being able to maintain a just and good peace. Likewise, war between just and good allies weakens and can even prevent effective wars against more appropriate targets. Also, a realm at peace with itself can generate the goods and society that will not only help maintain that peace and justice for all; but it will also be capable of supporting a much more potent military force than a less settled land.
Thus, clerics of the war/peace domain are expected to:
Lead by example and be exemplary warriors themselves.
Use all of their talents, energy, and will to create/support the most effective fighting force possible – sometimes as a leader, other times as a supporter. The worthy goal is the most important thing, glory is secondary. The goals of the Gods come first.
Encourage all people to be the most effective warriors possible – both men and women and render worship to Morgan and Morgana.
Encourage, promote, and enforce peace within the realm and beyond.
Encourage, promote, and support preparations for war/defence.
Powers: Clerics are able to cast cantrip “Soothing Word” at will, once per person (additional person per level, no 2nd attempt).
Soothing word Cantrip Casting time: 1 action Range: 30` - 1 person per level of caster. Components: V,S (Soothing gesture and words). Duration: 1 minute You may cast this spell to turn a person`s mood to a calmer level. The person will still know why he or she is annoyed or angry, etc. but the emotional aspects have been leached out for 1 minute. After that minute, the person may become emotionally upset again; but during that minute the emotion is gone and the brain is able to think clearly about the situation. A follower of your gods will be aware a cleric has cast that spell at him or her- no saving throw. Someone who is not a follower of your gods is allowed a saving throw (intelligence). A failed throw will also prevent the subject from realizing he or she was spelled.
