Lord of Trade(Orlen)and Lady of Wealth and Fortune (Beatha)

Picture
Picture
Appearance:  Orlen usually appears as a middle aged merchant.  He can range from a pedlar with all of his goods on his back to a well dressed merchant who owns a major trading house.  In any of these guises, Orlen’s appearance is so ordinary that he is barely noticeable.  A very astute observer may note three things: Orlen’s appearance is so average that it is ‘too average’, his goods always include just what the customer wanted, and this very likeable man who likes to talk and barter will find out vast amounts of information about his customers, the area, …. while giving away very little information of true value about himself. Beatha is likewise very ordinary in physical appearance.  However, any person who receives her direct attention will find her much more attractive than her physical appearance would warrant.  It’s not a magical effect; Beatha is the foremost expert on body language and subtle clues that tell her what the other person is feeling, thinking, …. The only clue a very astute observer may have that Beatha is present and it’s not just a very talented human, is the laws of nature go slightly out of whack when she is around.  Impossible things don’t happen, just very improbable things…..

Symbols: (As shown) a ship and coins

Areas of Concern:  Trade, wealth, and luck.

Duties of the Priesthood:  These clerics are concerned with the trade of goods and all aspects of wealth.

Thus, clerics of trade, wealth, and fortune are expected to:

1.    Gather information. Priests of Clan want to know things – e.g. how a ship works. Priests of this area are more interested in how changes can improve the ship, but especially what ships are operating, their destinations, cargoes, hazards along the way….
2.    Assist and advise merchants and those involved in trade.
3.    Provide up-to-date information to the government and other priesthoods.  Use the information to better the realm (advise farmers which crops are in demand elsewhere…..)
4.    Monitor the currency, scales, balances, weights, etc. to ensure no fraud nor cheating.
5.     Ensure taxes are fairly paid.

Powers:  1. Clerics can cast “Comprehend Languages” once/per day at will.  2. Can cast “Illusory Script” once/caster level per day at will.  3. Can cast “Fortune’s Bless” once per day/3 caster levels at will. (see below).

Fortune’s Bless  2nd level  Casting time: 1 action.  Range: 30’.  Components: V,S, M (holy symbol must be used to point at spell recipients).   Duration: Concentration up to 1 minute.      You may cast this spell on up to 3 creatures of your choice that are in range and sight. (if you enhance the spell by using a spell slot higher than 2nd, you may add 1 creature affected for each spell slot above 2nd level). Whenever the target needs to roll the dice to do an ability check, attack, check for damage, etc. the spell recipient rolls a 1d6 and add the result to one dice roll (i.e. once you use it, it’s gone).
